This Pesticide Applicator Credit Workshop will be hosted by the Alberta Invasive Species Council just ONE DAY before their Annual Conference and is a separate event from the conference; however, you are encouraged to attend both events!

Bridging the Gap seeks to help bridge the gap between generations of farmers to provide Canada’s farming future with the best chance for success. The Bridging the Gap Workshop welcomes farm families to work with Farm Management Canada and our presenting partners MNP, AFSC, Alberta Canola, Dentons and Ritchie Bros to help make meaningful progress in their farm transition journey. This workshop is uniquely designed to engage multiple generations working together on the family farm in meaningful discussions to better understand each others' concerns and considerations for the future of the farm.

Cleanfarms operates the Unwanted Pesticides and Old Livestock/Equine Medications (UPLM) collection program across the country, rotating through each province on a 3-year cycle. This free program allows farmers to bring expired or unwanted crop inputs and animal health medications that they don’t need to collection events to be safely disposed of, ensuring these materials stay out of the environment. While this program has been servicing farmers for 27 years, every year new farmers are finding out about it for the first time.

The webinar will also provide an overview of the 2025 Keep it Clean Product Advisory, covering the product and crop combinations that may cause market risks for cereals and pulses. The presentation will wrap up with a discussion covering the importance of best practices for pesticide application throughout the growing season.
