The Challenge
Insect pests of field crops pose serious risks to crop yields annually, and information related to biology, distribution, and management of these insects is required to reduce insect-related yield losses.
The Project
Field and laboratory experiments and annual monitoring will be conducted to fill knowledge gaps that hinder the development of predictive models for key pest species of pulse, cereal, and oilseed crops. Predictive models of pest species will be developed and validated, and insect pest populations will be tested for insecticide resistance.
The Results
This section will be updated upon completion of the project.
Grower Benefits
New information about insect populations and new predictive models from this project will provide information and tools for the management of insect pests that can help growers to make informed decisions regarding their crops.
