The Challenge

Herbicide resistance is increasing in severity across the prairies, and with limited new herbicide products being released, new weed management techniques are necessary.

The Project

Investigate the Harrington Seed Destructor (HSD) efficacy across different cropping systems and management choices to potentially provide a new weed control method for farmers in Alberta.

The Results

Significant differences in seedbank and weed densities were not found between treated and untreated checks.

Grower Benefits

Aid in the identification of potential weed control options, in addition to herbicide application, for farmers to incorporate into their cropping systems.
