Growers Wanted: Help Shape the Future of Alberta Canola

Are you passionate about the future of farming? Do you want to make a difference for Alberta’s canola growers?

Alberta’s canola growers face real challenges and big opportunities. Alberta Canola is looking for forward-thinking, committed growers to step up and serve as directors on the Board of the Alberta Canola Producers Commission.

Alberta Canola is now accepting nominations for Regions 1, 4, 7, and 10. Deadline to apply: 4:00 p.m. on October 31, 2025. Find your region at: albertacanola.com/regions.

Why Run for the Board?

Alberta Canola is governed by 12 grower-elected directors — each one representing a region in Alberta. As a director, you’ll:

  • Advocate for growers in your region
  • Guide investments in research, innovation, and market development
  • Influence provincial and national ag policy
  • Gain experience, insight, and connections that amplify your voice and your farm’s future

What Does a Director Do?

Directors attend quarterly board meetings and contribute to strategic decision-making through one or more of the following committees:

  • Research
  • Government & Industry Affairs
  • Grower Engagement & Extension
  • Public Engagement & Promotion
  • Governance & Human Resources
  • Finance & Audit

Who Can Run?

You are eligible if you:

  • Have paid a service charge on canola delivered to a licensed grain dealer since August 1, 2023.
  • Are an individual producer, or you represent a corporation, partnership, or organization.
  • Grow canola in the region you’re seeking to represent (you do not need to reside there).
  • Want to lead? Yes, you can nominate yourself.

Nomination forms must be received (not postmarked) by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2025. Download the nomination forms and get full details at albertacanola.com/nominations

Term and Commitment

New directors begin their 3-year term following the 2026 Annual General Meeting in January. Directors may serve up to three consecutive terms.
