Alberta Canola is proud to announce the launch of its new five-year Strategic Plan for 2024/25 – 2028/29. A forward-thinking roadmap designed to empower Alberta’s canola growers. With a vision to empower the world’s most successful canola producers, this plan aligns with Alberta Canola’s mission to support the long-term success of its growers through research, extension, public engagement, and advocacy. 

The plan is anchored by principles and goals that prioritizes engagement with growers, advocates for the recognition of canola as a sustainable and healthy product and emphasizes the importance of collaboration with industry partners. Through innovative research and outreach programs, Alberta Canola is committed to delivering long-term value to its growers. The organization will also ensure that growers’ voices are integral in policy development, reflecting its strong commitment to advocacy. 

In terms of governance, Alberta Canola is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of stewardship and fiduciary responsibility. The Board will continue to operate with transparency, ensuring that the Commission adheres to its mandate while maintaining compliance with legislation, regulation, bylaws, and policies. 

“As we move forward, our focus will be on building trusted partnerships and leveraging innovative research to drive long-term value for our growers,” states Roger Chevraux, Alberta Canola Board Chair. “This plan sets the stage for continued success and growth within the canola industry.” 

Karla Bergstrom, Executive Director of Alberta Canola, emphasized the significance of the new plan, “Our strategic plan is a reflection of our unwavering commitment to the growers. By prioritizing their needs and ensuring their voices are heard, we aim to foster an environment where they can thrive both now and in the future.”  

Through this Strategic Plan, Alberta Canola reaffirms its dedication to supporting the province’s canola growers, ensuring they are equipped to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future.
