68th Annual Beaverlodge Beekeepers’ Field Day

June 21 @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm

All are invited to this free, one-day event to learn about AAFC’s current bee research, trends and topics in beekeeping, and the vital role bees play in agriculture.

Guests can see live demonstrations and chat with bee experts and other hobbyists. Enjoy lunch, then learn directly from scientists, provincial apiarists, and industry specialists as they share research highlights from the past year and present new beekeeping techniques and tools.

No pre-registration is required.

This free event includes:

  • Presentations by expert speakers
    • Keynote speaker, Dr. Nuria Morfin, Tech Transfer Program Lead from the BC Honey Producers Association, will speak about some of her latest work: On-site monitoring project: A revision of varroa economic injury levels in British Columbia.
    • Researchers from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, the National Bee Diagnostic Centre, and the University of Lethbridge
    • Samantha Muirhead, Provincial Apiculturist – Alberta
    • Kerry Clark, British Columbia Honey Producers Association
    • Connie Philips, Alberta Beekeepers Commission
  • Alberta Beekeepers Commission Technical Transfer Program
