Canola and soybeans duke it out in the oil market, but also the meal market. At the Western Canadian Dairy Seminar, I searched out some answers on this canola versus soybean discussion.

According the Canola Council of Canada, “Canola meal is an excellent source of histidine, methionine, cystine and threonine. It also has a higher milk protein score than most common protein sources – second only to fish meal.”
At the Western Canadian Dairy Seminar, Raylene Boehmer, HiPro Feeds explained why canola meal is an essential component of a productive dairy ration. More canola meal, more milk.
