What Does Success for Canola Farmers in Alberta Look Like to You?

September 16, 2021

Bring your perspective to the table and make a difference. Nominations are now open for growers in regions 3, 6, 9 and 12 to serve as director on the Board of the Alberta Canola Producers Commission.

Alberta Canola directors work alongside fellow farmers to represent growers in their region and collaborate with decision makers from across the agricultural spectrum to drive the industry forward.

The Board of Directors meets quarterly and is guided in decision making by five committees:

  • Governance and Finance
  • Government and Industry Affairs
  • Grower Relations and Extension
  • Public Engagement and Promotion
  • Research

Who Can Become a Director?

Anyone who has paid a service charge on canola to Alberta Canola since August 1, 2019 is an eligible producer and can stand as director. Eligible producers can be individuals or represent a corporation, partnership or organization. In order to be nominated, eligible producers must grow canola within the defined region but do not have to reside within it.

Nomination Deadline:

Nomination forms can be mailed, emailed to [email protected], faxed to 780-451-6933 or physically delivered to the Commission office on or before Friday, October 29, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. Nomination forms must be received by end of business day on the last day of the nomination period, not post marked on the last day.
