AgSafe Alberta Society (AgSafe) is actively searching for Executive Director to provide strategic leadership by serving as the CEO and reporting directly to the Board of Directors. AgSafe is a collaboration of crop and livestock sector producer groups that have come together to develop and deliver farm safety management tools, resources and programs for farmers and ranchers in the province of Alberta.
“We are seeking a leader who will enable us to take Alberta’s farm businesses to the next level in establishing practical farm safety management programs,” says AgSafe Chair, Kent Erickson. “We, as a board and industry, have started to set the roadmap for the future of farm safety now we just need a leader to set sail and steer the ship.”
The Executive Director will be responsible for the overall management and operations of AgSafe, providing leadership to Ag Safe and its 26 member organizations. The key responsibilities of this Executive Director will be strategy and policy, and management and operations.
“Our goal is to enhance Alberta’s agricultural safety culture, ensuring safety is a fully integrated part of the farm business,” says Erna Ference, Vice-Chair of AgSafe. “Our ideal candidate would be a strategic thinker who can creatively approach strategic planning and problem solving, then translating those priorities into action to achieve goals. Experience in Occupational Health and Safety Regulations as well as agriculture are considered assets.”
