2012 ACPC Board of Directors

January 31, 2012

Alberta canola producers elected one new director for the Alberta Canola Producers Commission (ACPC). Greg Sears of Sexsmith was elected for region 2 at the ACPC Annual General Meeting held on January 24, 2012.

Three directors were acclaimed in elections last fall and they are now serving their second three year term on the Board. Returning are Colin Felstad of Dapp for region 5, Elaine Bellamy of Rosebud for region 8, and Jack Moser of Killam for region 11.

Following the ACPC Annual General Meeting, Jody Klassen of Mayerthorpe was re-elected to serve as Chairman of the ACPC for the coming year. Colin Felstad of Dapp will again serve as the Vice-Chair.

Lee Markert of Vulcan will chair the Agronomic Research Committee, Marlene Caskey of Oyen will chair the Market Development Committee, and Jack Moser of Killam will chair the Grower Relations & Extension Committee. A complete list of committee members can be found at canola.ab.ca.

Retiring from the Board at the end of his second term was Harry Schudlo of Sexsmith. During his time on the board Mr. Schudlo served on the Agronomic Research Committee and the Grower Relations & Extension Committee.

“On behalf of Alberta’s canola growers, I extend my sincere thanks to Harry for his dedication and commitment to the canola industry and to the producers he represented so professionally at a regional, provincial, national, and international level,” stated ACPC Chairman Jody Klassen. “We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

The Alberta Canola Producers Commission is a refundable check-off organization representing 14,000 Alberta canola producers in the areas of canola agronomic research, extension, market development and government policy.
